Improving Your Content Design Strategy using UX Ideas

Although it's not always the case, content design methods are frequently focused on helping websites convert users into paying customers. There are countless approaches to creating engaging content, and there is no tried-and-true method you can apply to create yours successfully. However, there are several UX guidelines that could be useful while creating your content strategy:

1 Create User Personas of Your Buyers

When it comes to producing content, there is no finer tool in a UX toolkit than the user persona. As you develop your content, you should consider your target audience and consider whether their demands are being met. To make sure you're providing the proper content for their needs, you should assess whether you're still focusing on the right customers, how they want to receive their content, and the lifecycle from prospect to client.

2 Design for Speed

Unfortunately, it is true that individuals take a few seconds to decide whether to stay on your website or visit another. In order to grab and hold someone's attention, you should make advantage of the content and the space that it occupies. Write catchy headlines (and subheadings) to offer readers a clear sense of what will be helpful and what won't. People want real knowledge, not your "Why we are so amazing" speech, so make your material valuable rather than just marketing fluff. Simply said, make stuff valuable and accessible.

3 Cut Back on Clutter

Your content should support decision-making. To do that, check that each piece of content:

Answers your users’ questions about the topic – or guides them to the answers

Leaves your user happy that they have the information they need and doesn’t make them need to contact customer care or a competitor to get what they do need

Has a clear reason for being. Ask the question; “What’s the point of this content?” and then “Does it achieve that objective?”

Make sure your terminology maintains things straightforward and understandable for your users. Avoid confusing them with huge phrases and complicated technical jargon. Stuff that is well-written and easy to understand is significantly more valuable than content that requires two or three readings to fully comprehend.

4 Examine Your Sales Funnel

Installing Google Analytics and monitoring when visitors are departing during your sales cycle is one of the simplest ways to improve the content on your website. The next step is to do some user research to determine why they are departing. The information gap is where? Did the information fail to inspire confidence and security? Are you raising a topic too late in the process—hiding delivery costs is a terrific way to watch customers leave your sales funnel—too late? And so forth.
